Travel - Airport Parking Tips

Airport parking has always been a problem. The problem probably started about 10 minutes after the Wright brothers got off the ground for the first time!

But seriously, airport parking really is one of the major hassles of air travel. After all, you have to get TO the airport to board a flight, and when your return flight lands, you need transportation to get you home again. The problem is that so does every other passenger on every flight leaving from the airport. Airport parking is at a premium, to say the least.

Experienced travelers can tell you that there are ways in which you can relieve the airport parking headache. Here are four suggestions that might help:

1. The first suggestion is pretty obvious. Use public transportation to get both to and from the airport. There are public transportation options available in major cities specifically designed for air travelers.

2. You can use an alternative airport where parking isn’t such a problem. For example, Manchester, New Hampshire, is near Boston, and Long Beach is near Los Angeles.

3. You can reserve space at an off-airport lot. There are several online sites where you can reserve space, and the costs are fairly reasonable. These off-airport sites provide a shuttle service both to and from the airport, as well.

4. Book a room at an airport hotel that includes parking in the package. These packages are usually very flexible. You can choose to spend the night at the hotel either before your flight or on your return. Shuttle service is provided. Many find that booking a room at an airport hotel that includes parking service is actually cheaper than paying for airport parking for a week.

Airport parking is a problem, but there is no point in making it any harder than it needs to be!
