Travel as a Courier

For those who have wandering feet but limited financial resources, traveling as a courier can be one of the most inexpensive ways to travel. You can travel to London and back for about $100.00, or you can make a round trip to Hong Kong for about $300.00. A Rio round-trip ticket can be as cheap as $150.00. How, you might ask, can anybody fly that cheaply in this day and age? The answer is simple. You fly as a courier.

Basically, a courier is a freelance delivery person. The idea is that a business hires a courier to travel with cargo. You fly as a passenger on the plane, but the company who hires you uses your baggage allotment space to ship goods. In exchange for your accompanying the goods and for the use of your baggage allotment space, the company lets you purchase a ticket at a greatly reduced rate and, in some cases, you can fly free of charge.

There aren’t a lot of requirements for flying as a courier, but there are some. First, you must be willing to travel without much notice. You must be willing and able to travel light one carry-on bag is all you are allowed. You must be responsible enough to meet with a company representative at the airport before your departure. Also you must be presentable. Take out your nose ring, and don’t dye your hair several different colors before you go.

Other than those few requirements, traveling as a courier is easy and it really is very inexpensive! You can go further and a lot more often than you can if you have to pay full ticket prices to travel. Traveling as a courier can turn just an ordinary flight into an adventure!
